Member of Holmes Chapel Parish Council
Patricia Cotton
Holmes Chapel has been my home since 1984 and I am one of five generations of 'Cottons' who live in the village and surrounding area. I am married to Peter and have three grown up daughters.
My background is primarily with the NHS and until 2009 was employed for nineteen years by a local NHS Trust in Learning Disabilities, Education and Training, Medical Workforce and HR.
As a founder member of Holmes Chapel Bookworms Group I count reading as one of my favourite ways of relaxing and meeting with the members is a highlight of the month. I'm a long standing member of the National Women's Register and have served on various committees in the village over the last 28 years. The newly formed U3A in the village has also introduced me to a raft of new interests.
The life of the village has always interested me and I have fought hard to raise awareness of the various schemes which would harm life in Holmes Chapel as we know it. Although change will assuredly come, I feel strongly this must be tempered with regard to the existing structure and the wishes of the residents. Although I have been a member of Holmes Chapel Parish Council for some years now, I recognise there is still a huge amount to learn and look forward to the challenge.
