Civic Service 2022

The Parish Council was delighted to invite representatives from local community groups and volunteers to our annual Civic Service.

The Service took place on Sunday 25th September at St Luke's Church and was led by Canon Rob McLaren. The Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr Chris Jackson, welcomed all attendees and paid tribute to her late Majesty the Queen, sharing two ways in which her leadership inspired work in the community. Canon McLaren then spoke to the congregation about what it is to be a good leader, talking about how leadership is not about seeking fame and recognition, but acting like a servant.

After the service, all attendees were invited to St Luke's Church Hall for tea, coffee and cake, provided by the Parish Council.

It was lovely to see and speak to so many people who work tirelessly for our community.
