You are invited to attend Cheshire East Councils upcoming online Covid-19 information and scams awareness session, which is open to Cheshire East residents and anybody who volunteers in our community
Criminals are using the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity to exploit and defraud members of our communities. The fraudsters are using the uncertainty around peoples financial situations, their loneliness and isolation and the vaccination rollout to profit illegally. In order to try and combat these crimes and to support our community to feel/be safe, our session will focus on the scams which have seen an increase during the pandemic, how to spot them, where to report them and the support available to victims. We will be highlighting the work being carried out in our communities by some of our teams and partners. We will cover the vaccination rollout and provide trusted sources of information on Covid-19 topics, so that everyone can keep up to date with the latest information. You will have the option to ask our speakers questions and following the session we will send you an email detailing the various pieces of information we cover.
