Himalayan Balsam Removal

Calling for volunteers!

The Friends of the Dane Meadow and members of the U3A are getting together on Tuesday 8th June at 10am to hold a session devoted to pulling up Himalayan Balsam in the Dane Meadow.

In the Dane Meadow, Himalayan Balsam is spreading year by year. The Friends of the Dane would like to reduce the spread up the sides of the valley to allow other vegetation to flourish. The safest way is to uproot is before it flowers. The plants are easily recognisable and can be uprooted easily by hand.

Please join them at 10am on Tuesday 8th June. Bring some gardening gloves and meet at the picnic tables at the end of the bridleway.
