Councillors from the Parish Council were pleased to take part in Walk to School Week, by joining residents, Ward Councillors, our local PSCO and teachers from the Primary Schools in a Superhero Walk to School event on Wednesday 19th May. This event was organised by the Holmes Chapel Partnership to help raise awareness of the difficulties and concerns some residents have in walking their children to school. Parish Councillors were keen to listen to residents share their concerns and ideas on what improvements can be made to ensure walking to school is safer.
The Parish Council is also committed to this issue, and set up a task group with local residents and members of the Partnership to submit ideas for improvement to Cheshire East Highways. We sent these suggestions to Cllr Laura Crane earlier in the year and are still waiting for an official response from Highways. We will continue to work on behalf of our residents to find solutions to their areas of concern.
Thanks to the Holmes Chapel Partnership for organising this occasion.
